San Franciscans in Quintana Roo

I used to go to Quintana Roo in the Yucatan Peninsula often. Often I ran into people from the San Francisco Bay area on the Beach, at Xel-ha, Playa Del Carmen, Kailum and other places. Many from Marin, but all walks of life. I once spent New Years Eve listening to Micky Hart playing in a thatched hut near Xel-ha with a really bad sound system, but it not making a bit difference to how cool it was.
